Influencing Climate Policy - The Earth League

I was one of the top community-engaged researchers at the University of Arizona. I did this for about 24 years, mostly without a doctoral degree, working in the Arizona-Sonora Border region and rural Arizona, primarily with communities affected by hazardous contamination. I studied communities using qualitative methods and established community-driven environmental health projects.

I left that behind. It was not easy. Now I am pursuing the next phase of my career.

I want to influence international climate policy and lead by thinking outside the box to drive innovation. I now work for The Earth League at Arizona State University's Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory, where I am pursuing both goals.

One of my first tasks as the Assistant Director was to orchestrate the writing of a publication in collaboration with The Earth League fellows. They are among the top scientific minds on the topic, and it is a privilege to have them as my teachers.

As German Scientist Albert Einstein said, “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
